Teddy Roosevelt

Teddy was Colonel of the First U.S. Volunteer Calvary Regiment during the Spanish-American War, today we more commonly know them as the "Rough Riders".

For his heroism Roosevelt was nominated for the Medal of Honor. And it "only took" a little over 100 years for him to receive it. In 2001 Teddy was posthumously awarded the Medal for his bravery on San Juan Hill.

Another interesting fact, Roosevelt's first son Teddy Jr., was a key General during the invasion of Normandy Beach during WW2. He went in with the first wave of men and for his gallantry he was also awarded the Medal of Honor.

Also, In case you didn't know, T.R. was 26th President of the United States.

Phil Sheridan

Sheridan's career was noted for his rapid rise to the rank of Major General during the Civil War. He was one of the first Generals to use "scorched earth" tactics against the South. "Little Phil" was only 5feet 5inches, but he would fight anyone over anything.

"What's that you said?... Napoleon complex?... No way."

George Washington

First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen. What a stud!

Washington was the leader of the Continental Army against the evil British Empire and the first President of the United States. How can you not love this guy? Plus he did it all with wooden teeth, made out of a cherry tree, that he cut down as a child...?

Did I get that last part correct?

Robert E. Lee

Lee was a distinguished career soldier and a top graduate of West Point. He commanded the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War.

Not to mention the "Duke Boys" named their Dodge Charger after him.

Check out the size of his feet in this picture, what are those, maybe a size five ladies? Not that it matters.... Oh never mind.

George S. Patton

George Smith Patton was born into a family with a rich military history and a richer bank account. He attended V.M.I for one year before transferring to West Point where he graduated in 1909. Patton participated in the pentathlon during the 1912 Summer Olympics and finished fifth overall. During WW1 Patton was assigned to the newly formed Tank Corps where he thrived. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross after personally leading an attack on German machine guns. During the attack Patton was wounded and received the Purple Heart Medal. During WW2 Patton's strong opinions and "loud mouth" caused him many headaches. Despite his problems, Patton was feared by the enemy and was a fine leader of men. His armies blitzed through enemy lines only being slowed by fuel shortages. Sadly Patton died from injuries received during a freak traffic accident, shortly after the War in Europe ended. He is buried in Hamm, Luxembourg at the head of his former troops, the brave men of the U.S. Third Army. I love this man!
